Summary

Status: Stopped
What a thrilling end to the Daytona 500 that was, we hope you'll agree. There was a stop-start spell of cautions in the final stage of the race, but thankfully the best of the action was saved until the final few laps.

That's where we're going to call things a night as far as live is concerned, but be sure to check back in shortly for a full report from the 500.

If those extra couple of minutes are just too long for you to keep your eyes open, make Autosport.com your first port of call tomorrow morning to recap a thrilling event, and gear up for the first formal running ahead of the 2017 Formula 1 season - with live coverage of the first test at Barcelona.

Thanks for joining us, and see you soon.

A brilliant, brilliant win for Busch - but spare a thought for Elliott, who was a handful of miles away from being the first man to convert a Daytona 500 pole to victory in 17 years.

Blaney is pretty reflective after a superb second place: "It took longer to get going than I thought. We got a big run into [Turn] 1 and it all separated and we got to second - somehow, the run kept us going.

"I was sputtering and running out of gas along the whole back straight. But for it to be a backup car and [have the team] work so hard is worth it."

Of the leading contenders who dropped away towards the finish, Larson, Truex and Elliott finished 12th, 13th and 14th.
Here's a full run down of the top 10:

1 Busch
2 Blaney
3 Allmendinger
4 Almirola
5 Menard
6 Logano
7 Kahne
8 Waltrip
9 DiBenedetto
10 Bayne
Replays show as Larson slowed, Busch ducked back to the highside to move into the lead and thereon in had the legs on Blaney to claim victory.
Busch is rightfully mobbed by his crew as he celebrates victory.
Tony Gibson, Busch's crew chief, seems delirious on the pitwall as Busch celebrates with a courtesy set of doughnuts.
A 29th career win for Busch, but his first victory at Daytona in 17 attempts.
Busch does it! He claims his first Daytona 500 victory from Ryan Blaney, while out of nowhere AJ Allmendinger claims third. Breathless stuff in those final three laps.
But now Larson is out of fuel, and Busch has a couple of car lengths in hand.
And Larson grabs the lead! He snatches the lead from Truex, who's now plummeting back down the order. Onto the final lap now!
Drama! Elliott is out of fuel with two laps to go. Truex inherits the lead.
Great move from Larson, who grabs third by slipping down to the bottom line before cutting back up in front of Busch.
Elliott managed to hold the lead for 23 laps in Friday's Duel race, but this result would be something else. Six laps to go.
"Everybody's just trying to save fuel," Truex is told. His response is to ask for his level: "We're right at it, so anything you save is added on," comes the response.
It's a leading pack of 12 at the moment, separated by less than a second and a half. 10 laps to go.
Busch in third has been told to 'flip the switch' with a lap to go. That's to help with fuel - he's half a lap short by his team's current predictions.
Elliott continues to fend off Truex - who of course finished runner-up by the closest of margins last year. Can he avenge that defeat?

Lapped traffic coming up. How might that affect things?
So, 20 laps to go. Elliott leads by a whisker, but Truex has now jumped into a clear second ahead of Busch. Can the polesitter hold on to his lead?
Elliott is blocking his lead with Truex and Logano looking to take that first place. 21 to go.

25 laps to go and Truex is fighting Logano for second place with Elliott looking comfortable for now.
Elliott now has a sizeable lead. There have been 17 lead changes and the polesitter is out in front.
They're back to double-file racing as Elliott dives to the outside to take on Logano for the lead.
Top five: Logano, Elliott, Truex, Dillon, Larson in single-file.
30 to go.
Larson drops back to third and Logano is holding off Chase Elliott for the lead.
The sun is going down now and track temperature is dropping. As a result, there's a bit more grip on track. The outside line also looks more desirable now with Larson showing just as much pace as Logano.
Logano is on the inside and Larson on the outside with 35 to go.
20 cars on the lead lap, 14 cars out and Logano is racing Larson for the lead two-wide.
Logano is making a move for first, side by side with Larson. They nearly hit each other but there's a big battle here for the lead.
