Rossi seeking more wins from 2008

Newly-crowned world champion Valentino Rossi has vowed to keep racing hard until the end of the season despite having already wrapped up his eighth title with three races left to go

The Yamaha star, who scored a record 70th win in Mugello - his eighth of the season - has not given up on 2008 just yet and intends to finish off the year with a flourish.

"Now it is important to keep concentrating and stay focussed, because we still have three races to go and I want to close my season with three good results," said Rossi on the eve of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. "This year we have had a lot of hard racing and a lot of tough battles so I hope to stay in the fight for the last races.

"Malaysia is an okay track [to ride on] and last year Valencia was a disaster for me, so there is still a lot of motivation to make the best of what's left."

Rossi added that Phillip Island was one of his favourite stops on the tour, with its high speed nature and flowing style.

"Phillip Island is a great track," he said. "I love this track like a lot of other riders.

"For me it is very difficult to decide which one is the best, here, Mugello or Barcelona. All of them are first class."
