Rossi says no problems after crash
Valentino Rossi says he is suffering no serious side effects from his big crash in this morning's practice session for the Portuguese Grand Prix
The Fiat Yamaha rider lost control of his bike in the wet conditions at Estoril and was pitched off the saddle - tumbling into the gravel trap.
Although bruising his hip in the accident, Rossi has said that it has no effect on his riding as he bids for his first victory of the season.
"It was a big crash," admitted Rossi. "I had a very good feeling with the Bridgestone rain tyre and I had constant throttle through the corner, but too much angle.
"My corner speed was a bit too fast and I had to go more on the edge of the tyre, and the rear slid. It was a big crash and I have a little bit of pain, a bruise, but it's just a problem for walking - to ride the bike I am 100 percent."
Rossi said he had yet to show his full form at Estoril, as his pace in the drier afternoon session was limited by damp patches which meant he could not take the optimum line in corners.
But he felt much happier with the feel of his bike, and especially the front Bridgestone tyre, than title rival Casey Stoner.
"I am in a different situation," he said. "I arrive from Michelin and from there I like the Bridgestone front, so for this moment I have a good feeling from the front."
