Rossi praises Brno's improved surface
Valentino Rossi has given Brno's new track surface his seal of approval and paid tribute to the Czech Grand Prix circuit's organisers for eliminating the bumps that caused consternation among the riders in 2007
The multiple MotoGP champion said that his impression of the track's new layer of asphalt was very positive and that he was pleased at how Brno had responded to the riders' requests to improve it.
"My personal feeling is very positive," he said. "It is normal that a new surface has a bit less grip at the beginning but the riders' safety commission wanted a new surface because last year the bumps were very, very big.
"The first corner in the last part [was very bad]. And now 80% of the bumps have disappeared.
"I think they did a great job with the new surface, it is normal that it needs more running and more bikes on it. It looks like there is quite good grip in the wet also because the 250s were quite fast. I think it is positive work."
