Pedrosa not thinking about title chance
Dani Pedrosa says he will concentrate on 'enjoying' the next few races rather than watching the points gap between himself and championship leader Jorge Lorenzo
The Honda rider's wins at Indianapolis and Misano have brought him to within 63 points of runaway leader Lorenzo with six rounds to go.
But Pedrosa, who confirmed yesterday that he will stay with Honda through 2012, said he will just carry on making the most of his Honda's current strong form and aiming for race wins, without thinking about his championship chances.
"It's good - me and my team are doing a good job right now," said Pedrosa.
"In the last races we've been so good that we'd like to keep doing this. We know it's very hard to beat these guys at every race, but we'd like to keep up our performance and try to work harder.
"We'll just do it weekend by weekend and try to be happy and enjoy the weekend."
Lorenzo promised that he would carry on pushing for victories as he does not believe he is guaranteed the title despite his current cushion.
"Any person who says it's going to be easy [is wrong]... for sure if you want to win a championship you have to fight, you have to ride at the limit in every race and you have to fight with real fighters at a very high level," said Lorenzo. "For me, as difficult as it is, that's how motivated I am."
