Hayden vows not to dwell on crash

Having been fastest in the warm-up at Valencia, Hayden was running close behind his Ducati team-mate Casey Stoner when he fell at the first corner on lap three.

"I was fastest this morning and I knew it would be tough, but I just wanted to try and stay in there as long as I could," said Hayden.

"Obviously tried a bit too hard. I didn't really get in any harder than I had been, but the front was a bit lower and got on the bump rubber and just turned it in and it was on the bottom. The suspension goes hard and then that's it.

"I wanted to just try and get in there and see if I could hang on as long as I could and see why [Stoner] was going so fast around here."

Having been much more competitive in his second season at Ducati, Hayden said he will quickly get over today's accident and focus on 2011 - starting with his first test alongside new team-mate Valentino Rossi this coming week, during which Ducati will decide on next year's engine configuration.

"I've got to get over it. No point moping around all winter. Just shake it off and get ready to go back to work," said Hayden.

"It's true I hate to crash out and to end the season like that when I had good pace. I'm just thinking about getting back to work.

"I've got a good bike and a good team, and just want to see if we can do a good step like we did last winter."
