Capirossi stumped by '07 form

Loris Capirossi has admitted that he is not sure why he is having such a difficult season in 2007

Speaking ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, which he has won for the past two years, the Italian said that he is heading into the race this year in a different situation.

"In the past this has been a very special track for me," said Capirossi. "I won the last two years, but this season is completely different."

The 34-year-old said that it was difficult to pinpoint the reasons why he has struggled this year, but he said that he felt he is still riding well.

"I try to do my best, but this season I struggle a lot with the bike with some things," he added. "But I continue to believe in myself.

"I think this is one of the most important things for a rider. I want to see what happens in the next couple of races."

Capirossi will leave Ducati for Suzuki at the end of this season after five years with the Italian team, and he has said that once this season is over he will not dwell on his difficult year.

"After November, when the season is finished, I switch off this year and I'll start to work on the next one," he said.
