Lorenzo: Pedrosa was unbeatable
Jorge Lorenzo admitted that he had no answer to Dani Pedrosa's pace in the German Grand Prix today, but was not concerned to see his winning streak ended as he retains a substantial championship lead
Having won the last three races and taken four straight poles, Lorenzo was favourite for another victory at the Sachsenring. However Pedrosa stuck with him and was able to overtake early in the restarted race and pull away.
Lorenzo reckoned he had not been at his best following the stoppage, but felt that Pedrosa and Honda were an unbeatable package in Germany anyway.
"I rode a little bit worse than in the first part," the Yamaha rider admitted. "But anyway today it was difficult to beat Dani.
"His riding was absolutely great. The only thing that we could do was finish second."
The Spaniard took solace in his championship advantage, which remains at 47 points over Pedrosa with 10 rounds to go. Lorenzo has won five of the eight grands prix held so far in 2010.
"I think it's very positive for the championship," he said. "These 20 points are helping us to remain in the lead of the championship with a very big gap."
