Rossi will not rush future decision

After taking his 100th grand prix victory at Assen last weekend, Rossi hinted that he was ready to renew his Yamaha deal, which presently runs to the end of next season.

But while he said he was currently keen to stay with the team, he insisted he would not commit himself to anything for 2011 until next year.

"I signed last year to stay here for two years with Yamaha. I'm so happy, and I said that if I had to decide now, I feel in good shape mentally and physically," said Rossi.

"I think it's possible to stay at the top in motorcycling for another three or four years.

"But I always think in the not very long term. So I will decide next year."

Rossi added that he was enjoying himself more than ever - and felt even more upbeat about his and Yamaha's prospects following its recent one-two finishes than he had when winning last year's title.

"For sure now the situation at Yamaha is so positive," he said. "We have a great atmosphere and especially this year it looks like our M1 is so competitive, and better than the 2008 version."
