Hopkins relieved to be back in action
John Hopkins is relieved to be making his MotoGP return at Brno this weekend after missing three rounds with a leg injury sustained at Assen seven weeks ago
The Kawasaki rider expects to be fully recovered for the Czech Grand Prix and is eager to get back on the Ninja ZX-RR.
"I'm feeling pretty good now and I'm anxious to get back on track," he said. "I've got full movement back in the injured knee and it's been fine during my training regime up to now.
"I don't think it's going to cause me any problems on the bike, but it's been almost seven weeks since I've thrown a leg over it, so I won't know for sure until we start free practice on Friday."
The American is confident that Kawasaki have taken a step forward for Brno and is eager to return to racing.
"I know Brno like the back of my hand, our Bridgestone tyres work well at this track, and the new parts that Kawasaki are bringing to the Czech Grand Prix mean we've got some positive things to work with.
"Spending the rehab at home with my family and friends has been enjoyable, but I'm really looking forward to seeing the team, getting back on the bike, and finding the total mental focus necessary for the best possible result this weekend."
