Misano MotoGP: Marc Marquez rebounds from Friday crash to top FP3

Marc Marquez rebounded from his Friday crash to top third practice for MotoGP's San Marino Grand Prix at Misano on Saturday morning ahead of Maverick Vinales

In the second half of the 45-minute session, Honda rider Marquez came close to lowering his own Friday benchmark several times before finally succeeding with a 1m33.472s.

Ducati's Jorge Lorenzo and LCR Honda's Cal Crutchlow both went quicker, only for Marquez to reclaim top spot with a minute left on the clock - and he then improve again with his final effort as the chequered flag fell.

The reigning champion was the only rider to go below the 1m33s barrier with a best time of 1m32.958s.

His closest challenger, sole factory Yamaha rider Yamaha Vinales, ended up 0.154-seconds short on his final lap.

Crutchlow was third quickest on Saturday morning - and had the fourth-best time overall - as FP2 pace-setter Danilo Petrucci (Pramac Ducati) finished third best in the combined classification by dint of his Friday effort.

Petrucci was ninthth quickest in FP3.

The factory Ducatis of Andrea Dovizioso and Lorenzo were fourth and fifth in Saturday the Satuday session ahead of Johann Zarco (Tech 3 Yamaha), who crashed at Turn 13.

Zarco narrowly outpacing Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) and Pedrosa, another faller when he came off his Honda at Turn 2.

Ducati wildcard Michele Pirro finished 10th to round out the top ten in FP3.

Lead Suzuki rider Andrea Iannone and Marc VDS Honda's Tito Rabat were both pushed out of the top 10 combined positions, and were therefore the fastest two riders to miss out on an automatic Q2 position.
