MotoGP adds Brazil, Argentina to 19-race 2014 calendar

MotoGP's new dates in Argentina and Brazil have been confirmed on the 19-race 2014 calendar released by governing body the FIM

American venue Laguna Seca loses its place but the other 17 venues on the 2013 schedule are retained with only minor date and order changes.

Argentina should have been on this year's calendar, but the event at the Termas de Rio Honda circuit was postponed due to political issues relating to the nationalisation of the local arm of Honda's title sponsor Repsol.

It will now run as round three of next season, slotting between Austin and Jerez on April 27.

The Brazilian event will be held at a revamped Brasilia track, subject to the circuit being homologated. MotoGP's first race in the country since 2004 is scheduled for September 28 next year.

Laguna announced on Tuesday that it would drop off the MotoGP calendar next year as it could not compete with fellow American venues Austin and Indianapolis.
