Stefan Bradl calm over 2014 MotoGP deal despite no contract

Stefan Bradl insists he is not worried about his MotoGP future despite confirming he does not have a deal in place for 2014

The German was reported to have signed a deal to compete as a 'Honda factory supported rider' until the end of 2014, but confirmed in Laguna Seca that no such deal is in place for next year.

He graduated to the premier class with the satellite LCR squad after beating Marc Marquez to the 2011 Moto2 championship.

After a breakthrough rookie season, Bradl's form has dipped slightly in 2013, although he captured his first pole position and podium in MotoGP at Laguna Seca last weekend.

"At the moment I have no contract for next year, [and] no option for next year," Bradl said.

"So I just need to push my maximum, and we will see what's going on in the near future.

"But I'm not too worried about me next year. For sure I think I deserve a place in MotoGP."

Bradl's contract news follows Nicky Hayden's confirmation that he will lose his Ducati ride at the end of the season.

Cal Crutchlow, the only satellite rider placed higher than Bradl in the championship, is also without a confirmed deal for next season.

Moto2 rider and title hopeful Pol Espargaro has been heavily linked with a Yamaha ride in 2014.
