125cc: Faubel edges out Talmacsi for pole

Title rivals Hector Faubel and Gabor Talmacsi will start alongside each other at the head of the grid in tomorrow's penultimate round of the 125cc championship at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia

While Joan Olive set the early pace, Talmacsi was soon topping the times, on top by the eleven minute mark of the session, and setting a pair of times late in the session that looked to have secured him pole.

But with a minute remaining Faubel pipped Talmacsi's time by 0.116 of a second with a 2:13.327 to secure pole, and despite Talmacsi's best effort on his final flying lap, he couldn't do any better and will start second.

Third and fourth on the grid will be Sandro Cortese and Pol Espargaro, both riders setting their best laps after the chequered flag had been shown. This pushed Simone Corsi down to fifth and Tomoyoshi Koyama to sixth.

A tightly-bunched group followed them, with Lukas Pesek, Joan Olive, provisional pole man Pablo Nieto, Mattia Pasini and Sergio Gadea separated by less than a quarter of a second.
