Moto2: Lorenzo claims Le Mans pole

Jorge Lorenzo continued his domination of this year's 250cc class by taking pole position for tomorrow's French Grand Prix at Le Mans, his fourth pole in five races

The Spaniard took provisional second place yesterday, despite reportedly suffering the fracture of the fifth toe in his left foot in a spectacular high-side crash in qualifying session one. But today he came back in full force with a time of 1:37.934, over half a second faster than everyone else.

Second spot on the grid will be occupied by Julian Simon, who beat third-fastest Hector Barbera by 15 hundredths of a second.

Thomas Luthi will start the race from fourth spot, ahead of Alvaro Bautista and Alex de Angelis, who held top spot during the first part of the session.

Marco Simoncelli was seventh fastest, followed by Andrea Dovizioso in eighth and yesterday's provisional pole-setter Mika Kallio in ninth, with the Finn unable to improve on his Friday time.

Roberto Locatelli was slowest again on his return some two months after his major crash at Jerez de la Frontera. The Italian was 3.785 seconds away from pole, but less than three tenths slower than second-slowest Arturo Tizon.
