Wheldon confirmed at Andretti Green
Young British driver Dan Wheldon has been confirmed as test driver for the Andretti Green Racing Indy Racing League squad, and could even race for the team next year

Wheldon's hopes of driving for the team in selected events next season now depend on whether team can secure enough funding to run an extra car for him.
"This is just great," said Wheldon. "I was extremely happy to receive the offer from [team-owners] Kim [Green], Michael [Andretti] and Kevin [Savoree]. Joining an organization that has such a tremendous pedigree is a real thrill. It's a great opportunity for me at this stage of my career."
The team is now looking for sponsorship to run Wheldon in selected events next year. "We are looking to see what we can find that will help get him in a seat for part of the season," said Andretti. "There's no guarantee right now that we'll be able to do it, but we are doing the best we can to fund him. We'd like to see him have the chance to run with us. He's certainly got the talent to be a contender."
Wheldon has already tested the new IRL Honda engine that the team will race next season.
