Las Vegas pitches for IndyCar finale
The 2011 IndyCar Series looks set to conclude at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with circuit boss Bruton Smith confirming that he is working to entice the championship back to the track next year

Las Vegas last hosted the Indy Racing League's series from 1996 to 2000, and held Champ Car races between 2003 and 2005.
The full 2011 IndyCar schedule will be announced on 10 September, and Smith is optimistic that he will secure the season finale for Las Vegas.
"I'm certainly looking forward to the final race for IndyCar being in Vegas," Smith said.
"I'm anxiously anticipating and certainly think that will happen. It's good for Speedway Motorsports and good for IndyCar to have the final race of the year in Las Vegas."
This year's IndyCar season will conclude at Homestead on 2 October.
