Hornish tips Kanaan for Indy success
Sam Hornish believes that Tony Kanaan is the man most likely to prevent him from winning a second consecutive Indianapolis 500
The American won the race for the first time last year, and he feels that Kanaan has a great chance of taking his first Indy 500 win on Sunday.
"The toughest competition will be Kanaan," Hornish said. "He has always been good here.
"He is always near the front. He is fast every year, and he is patient, but he hasn't had the luck, like I hadn't had it until last year."
Kanaan will start from the front row for the race, but Hornish added that he felt any of the drivers in the top third of the grid could snatch the victory.
"It wouldn't surprise me if anyone in the top 11 won the race," he said. "If it all falls right for one of those guys they can be in a position to win at the end.
"Dan (Wheldon), Helio (Castroneves), and me have all won before, and we know what it takes to do it, but this year it could be anyone."
Hornish won the race after starting from pole position last year, but this year he will start fifth.
