Brack returns to series with Rahal
Leading CART outfit Team Rahal has announced that it will field Kenny Brack in a Honda-powered Dallara for an assault on the Indy Racing League championship
For Brack, the move marks a return to both the IRL and Team Rahal. The Swede won the IRL championship in 1999 before moving to Rahal's CART team. After two seasons with the team that yielded four wins Brack moved to Ganassi Racing for the 2002 season.
"Rejoining Bobby and the rest of Team Rahal and having the chance to work with Honda and two world-class sponsors in Pioneer and Miller Lite made this a great situation," said Brack. "We had a lot of success in my two years at Team Rahal, and I am looking forward to continuing that success."
Rahal was one of Honda's original teams for the Japanese manufacturer's entry into CART in 1994. "Today we begin a new chapter in Team Rahal's history," said Rahal. "For me personally, it means a great deal for Team Rahal to once again be involved with Honda. Given our history together, and how closely we worked together to bring Honda into open-wheel racing, to be asked by Honda to be a part of this project is a great honour."
The team will continue with its CART programme next year, and has already signed to run Michael Jourdain Jr. for a second season with the team. Rahal will also field a Toyota Atlantic entry for young American Danic Patrick.
