Andretti confirmed for Indy attack
Michael Andretti will make another attempt to break his duck in the Indianapolis 500 this year with his CART outfit Team Green
The American returned to the Brickyard last year for the first time since the CART/Indy Racing League split, and finished third in his Motorola-backed car. This year he will be joined by Team Green team-mates Dario Franchitti and Paul Tracy, who were confirmed for the May 26 race earlier in the week.
"I said last year when I came back to the speedway that I felt like I had some unfinished business at this place," Andretti said. "After coming so close last year, that feeling hasn't changed, so I'm glad to get another opportunity."
Team owner Barry Green said: "Michael will have his full [CART] crew working with him, from sponsors to the pit crew which brings a certain level of familiarity right from the start and we're hoping that gives us the advantage we need to win."
Andretti first raced in the Indy 500 back in 1984. The closest he has come to winning was in '91 when he finished second.
