Wendlinger and Sharp on Adria pole

Karl Wendlinger will start Saturday's FIA GT race at Adria from pole position in his Aston Martin DBR9

The Austrian needed just four laps in the session to secure pole for himself and Ryan Sharp, while he then went off track and caused a red flag shortly after setting his lap.

Christian Montanari put his Maserati MC12 on the front row of the grid, while Mike Hezemans put the Spa 24 hours-winning Corvette in third place.

Fabio Babini and Jamie Davies will start from fourth position for the two hour race, which is scheduled to run this evening.

Dirk Muller set the fastest time in the GT2 class, but his times were cancelled after his Ferrari 430 failed a ride height test.

That handed pole position to home driver Paolo Ruberti, who will share a Ferrari with Damien Pasini.
