Sportscar stars to kick-off Road Atlanta
Some of the world's finest sportscar drivers will appear for a Petit Le Mans pre-race get-together at Lenox Square Mall, next Tuesday
The event will publicise the second annual Road Atlanta and will be held at 12pm in the mall, in Atlanta's Buckhead area.
Among the drivers showing off their cars include, Max Angelelli, Alex Caffi, Johannes van Overbeek, Hans Stuck, Justin Bell and David Donohue.
As well as signing autographs, there will also be an opportunity for race fans to win tickets for Road Atlanta, which is being held on Saturday September 18.
Among the cars on display will be the Doyle-Risi Ferrari 333 SP from the team which won the inaugural Petit Le Mans a year ago;
Other attractions will include, a new Panoz LMP-1 Roadsters; the Champion Porsche 911 GT1 EVO, a Corvette C5-R and the Panoz Esperante WGGTS driven by Sara Senske to victory in the last Women's Global GT Series event at Portland.
Caffi and Stuck are Formula One veterans and Stuck co-drove to the GT victory at Sears Point in July in the battle between BMW and Porsche.
Wagner co-drove a Porsche to victory in the GT class at the Superflo 12 Hours at Sebring and the rounds at Mosport and Portland.
He trails van Overbeek, 100-97 in the standings for the American Le Mans Series drivers' championship.
Van Overbeek posted a victory in the second American Le Mans Series race at Road Atlanta in April.
Donohue has teamed with Formula One veteran Olivier Beretta to win the last three ALMS events in the GTS division at Mosport, Sears Point and Portland.
The Petit Le Mans is the sixth of eight events on the on the inaugural American Le Mans Series calendar in 1999.
The season ends with the VISA Sports Car Championships Oct. 10 at Laguna Seca and the San Diego Grand Prix through the streets of the California city Nov. 7.
