Playteam secure Bucharest front row

The Scuderia Playteam Maseratis claimed the front row in qualifying for the FIA GT Championship's first Bucharest street race

The Italian squad had also dominated final free practice, but their order was reversed in qualifying as Alessandro Pier Guidi and Giambattista Giannocaro beat teammates Andrea Bertolini and Andrea Piccini to pole by 0.373 seconds.

The leading Vitaphone Maserati of Miguel Ramos and Christian Montanari was third, a tenth away from the front row, but the best non-Maserati runner was over a second off the pace.

Robert Lechner and Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer put the JetAlliance Aston on the outside of row two - 1.1 seconds from pole and at the head of a group of five cars covered by 0.272 seconds.

Having been quickest in the first, rain-affected, practice session, Mike Hezemans and Jean-Denis Deletraz could only manage 10th on the grid in the Phoenix Corvette.

The Porsche teams dominated in GT2, with Emmanuel Collard and Matteo Malucelli taking pole for Scuderia Italia.
