Mansell not ruling out more races

Former world champion Nigel Mansell has not ruled out making further appearances in the FIA GT championship after his debut at Silverstone last weekend

The Briton finished seventh in class in his Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 430, which he shared with teammate Chris Niarchos. Speaking afterwards, he suggested that his future plans were open.

"I've really enjoyed my experience with the team; they are a great bunch of lads and I'm just disappointed for them that their usual pace wasn't there," said Mansell.  "We had the pace but the tyres went away so quickly today.

"This was the first time I have ever had to share my car and it was good to share with Chris (Niarchos) who is a great guy.  I would have liked for us to be more competitive but the team know what needs to be done.

"I'm pleased I've sampled the series; there were some fabulous drivers out there today, and some bullies too!  I've had a great workout and everyone is now asking me what happens next. Well, who knows?"

Niarchos admitted that he would relish the opportunity to drive with Mansell again.

"It's hard to explain what it has been like to drive with him," he said. "It was an awesome experience, one of the best of my life, and I would relish the opportunity to do it again."
