Steven Kane joins Blancpain Endurance field with JRM Nissan

American Le Mans Series race winner Steven Kane has filled the final seat in the JRM Nissan team's all-pro line-up in the 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series

The 32-year-old, who also has victories in British Formula 3 and the British Touring Car Championship on his CV, will drive the team's lead Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 together with Lucas Luhr and Peter Dumbreck.

Kane will test with JRM Racing for the first time at Paul Ricard next week.

"This is what I have been aiming to do for while: to get in a good car with a good driver line-up," he said. "It's one of the hardest things to do in sportscars.

"The BES is getting really strong with a lot of top drivers I've raced against in the past. I think it is one of the strongest sportscar championships out there."

JRM team owner James Rumsey said: "The Pro car line-up of Peter, Lucas and Steven is incredibly exciting and I am sure they will complement each other very well as they seek to get the most from the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 and go for wins and the championship title."

Kane's biggest successes in sportscars came with the Dyson Racing prototype squad in the 2011 ALMS, including a win in Baltimore, but he has previously raced GT machinery in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, British GTs, Belcar and in Grand-Am.

The second JRM Nissan, which will compete in the Pro-Am class, will be raced by up-and-coming British GT racer Matt Bell, his team-mate in British GTs last year, Charles Bateman, and Humaid Al Masaood, who drove with Kane in the ALMS and Grand-Am.

JRM is focusing its efforts on the BES in 2013 with the GT-R, which it is jointly developing with NISMO, after calling time on its World Endurance Championship campaign with an LMP1 HPD ARX-03a.
