Checkered flag
Frank Stippler wins part one of the St Mary's Trophy. Jason Plato is second, Michael Caine third, 0.3s ahead of Rob Huff. Big thumbs up between the two Austin A40 drivers after a tremendous battle.
Caine now heads Huff, who will not let him escape. Kristensen pulls into the pits after a mega drive.
Kristensen slows on track as he gets a warning flag for a loose bumper.
If Kristensen can make swift work of Caine and Huff on track, the pair could be in danger of being passed on time as well. They're running door-to-door all over the lap and giving each other plenty of space. Great racing and fair racing.
Kristensen is catching the duelling A40s on track, though is 11s back with the penalty. No doubt the Thunderbird will catch them on track sooner or later.
That makes the Caine / Huff battle for the final podium slot. Caine runs over the grass out of St Mary's and into Lavant, and is still behind.
Information
Retirement for Andrew Jordan! What a shame for him after a brilliant drive.
Stippler cannot shake Jordan, who's just unable to find a way past the Jaguar in the corners.
Caine gets past Huff, who promptly takes the inside for the apex at Woodcote and stays ahead.
After the excitement of the lead battle, a glance back at Caine and Huff shows the pair are still locked in battle. Huff simply will not give up the fight in a car that was running in road-spec a few weeks ago!
Meanwhile Tom Kristensen has the monster Ford Thunderbird up to tenth place, despite a five-second time penalty for clipping the chicane.
Stippler has the lead now though, can Jordan use the nimble Austin to claw the Jaguar back in through the corners?
Stippler has his nose ahead but Jordan can brake later in the Austin, and swoops around the outside of Woodcote to hold onto the lead.
Stippler is right on the tail of Jordan now, and exiting Lavant will no doubt try to breeze past.
Stippler sets fastest lap in second, and he's trying to reel in a 2.8s lead that Jordan has built up.
Plato pulls away from this tremendous Caine / Huff battle. Caine looks faster but Huff knows how to hold the fellow A40 off.
Huff is determnedly holding off Caine, while Plato mirrors Stippler's move down the Lavant Straight, though Caine refuses to let him through into Woodcote.
Frank Stippler swoops past Caine and Huff on the Lavant straight, and has the Jaguar in second.
Whatever the clutch problems were for Jordan aren't affecting his A40, as he has a 2.6s already.
It's Michael Caine in third, and Jason Plato in the first non-Austin A40 in fourth.
Lights green
Andrew Jordan leads from Rob Huff with a big fight for third.
The Ford Thunderbird that Tom Kristensen was due to drive in this race has been struggling with problems, and doesn't get away from the grid on the green flag lap. It finally starts and will go from the pit lane... if it does want to play!
This race should be thoroughly entertaining, as the cars at the front of the grid aren't likely to be the fastest, but handled yesterday's rain better.
Problems on the grid for the pole position Austin A40 of Andrew Jordan, which has clutch issues.
The action continues as does the glorious sunshine. The St Mary's Trophy is for saloon cars of a type that raced up to 1959, and this part of the race is for the 'Pro' drivers of the pair.
Quote
Jeremy McWilliams
“Big problem, the handlebar is a bit loose, so we couldn’t attack as much as I wanted to. The bike was working well but I lost a bit of front brake and I made a mess of the changeover stalling the bike and lost about 20 seconds.”
Duncan Fitchett
“The throttle is heavy. I should know how to bump start a Manx! First board I saw P7, then I saw P3 and I thought ‘that’s good’!”
Gary Johnson
“The bike ran well, me and Granty have a combined age of 111 so it’s a feat to go against these lads.”
Mick Grant
“I’m an old man so you have to accept it a bit! It was good fun, absolutely brilliant and the bike ran perfect.”
Michael Hose
“It was pretty lonely for me, Howie did the work at the beginning. Howie’s pretty quick in the rain and it’s supposed to rain tomorrow!”
Howie Mainwearing-Smart
“We got a really good start, we were losing the front everywhere, put a good lap in to hand over.”

Checkered flag
Mick Grant takes the flag but Michael Hose wins part one of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy after the time penalty is added. Duncan Fitchett comes in third - that pit stop delay could have cost him the win.
There's a 10s penalty for Guy Martin and Glen English too, though English is one of the fastest riders on track, and likely to make up places in the final minute.
Information
And there's a 30s penalty for Troy Corser and Sebastian Gusch for also pitting outside the allocated window.
Information
Drama! A 20 second penalty has been awarded to the leading #10, as it changed riders outside of the window. Hose thus has a 0.6s lead and he's lapping 4-6s faster each time around.
A huge 24s lead for Grant over Michael Hose, as the Mercer / Parrett Norton Manx is off into the grass. Rider is ok though.
And yet more drama, as Johnson laps a Norton Manx at Woodcote and runs off over the kerbs and onto the grass, with both feet off the bike trying to keep balance. He shakes his head and instantly comes in to hand over to Mick Grant.
More drama! Duncan Fitchett takes over from Jeremy McWilliams but the bike doesn't want to get away and the pair lose time.
Still a few bikes to come in for the stops, Gary Johnson is still putting in fast laps in the lead.
Information
William pulls the bike off and drops his head as he retires from the race lead.
Smoke from the leading MV Agusta and Michael Dunlop instantly looks behind to see what's going on. He brings the bike in but is shaking his head in disappointment. Can William bring it back? He doesn't look happy as he heads out.
Information
Pit window open with 15 minutes remaining.
Michael Dunlop has stretched his legs ahead of Gary Johnson as his lead becomes more comfortable by the lap.
Steve Parrish also had an exceptional start: he's made ten places and is in sixth.
Information
Michael Dunlop is on the #3 MV Augusta 500/3, apologies.
