Yoong wins comfortably at Brno

Former Formula One driver Alex Yoong claimed Team Malaysia's second A1 GP win with a comfortable victory at Brno

Yoong took the lead from Team Canada's James Hinchcliffe at the first corner after front-row starters Jonny Reid (New Zealand) and Nico Hulkneberg (Germany) clashed on the run to the first corner.

The German was flicked heavily into the wall, while Reid pitted with a puncture and rejoined to finish last.

Hinchcliffe was able to keep Team France's Nicolas Lapierre, who made a flying start from ninth on the grid, at bay to take second in only his second A1GP meeting.

Team China's Franky Cheng claimed his country's best result in A1 with a comfortable run to fourth ahead of local hero Tomas Enge's Czech Republic car.

Enge repulsed a mid-race challenge from Team USA's Phil Giebler to take sixth place, comfortably ahead of Mexico's Salvador Duran and Switzerland's Sebastien Buemi.

Team Great Britain's Robbie Kerr, who started tenth on the grid after losing a place on the second row because he failed post-qualifying scrutineering, finished ninth ahead of Brazil's Tuka Rocha.

Michael Devaney made progress in the early stages to finish 13th behind the Team Lebanon car of Graham Rahal.
