Yoong completes Brno double

Team Malaysia's Alex Yoong made it an A1 GP double with a dramatic second victory of the day in round two at Brno

Yoong lost out to fellow front row starter James Hinchcliffe (Canada) at the standing start, and by the time the duo had emerged from the mandatory pit-stops the ex-Minardi Formula One racer had over five seconds to make up.

By lap 24 Yoong was within a second and after several abortive attempts he finally made his move on the inside of Turn 8 on lap 34. The pair made contact, with Hinchcliffe spinning, while Yoong survived to take a comfortable victory.

Hinchcliffe rejoined the track second, but with dirty tyres he could do nothing to hold off local hero Tomas Enge's Team Czech Republic entry.

Enge got ahead into Turn 10, with Mexico's Salvador Duran following him past on the outside of Turn 1 a lap later. This also allowed 19-year-old Nico Hulkenberg, driving for Team Germany and starting from 16th on the grid, to slip ahead into Turn 3.

Hinchcliffe, who had earlier finished a superb second in the sprint race, kept his composure to hold off Team Great Britain's Robbie Kerr and New Zealand's Jonny Reid to finish fifth.

Franky Cheng claimed seventh for Team China, holding off Team Netherlands ace Jeroen Bleememolen and the Swiss car of Sebasiten Buemi. Buemi had led the race by dint of making a relatively late pit stop, but dropped down the order when he finally pitted in on lap 15.

Ireland's Michael Devaney claimed 12th, while defending champion outfit Team France failed to score after GP2 ace Nicolas Lapierre retired in the early stages of the race.
