Walker to run third entry at Mexico City
Mexican Luis Diaz will compete in next month's Champ Car World Series at Mexico City in a third Walker Racing entry
Toyota Atlantic driver Diaz competed in the event last year as a replacement for Adrian Fernandez in the CART veteran's eponymous team. He will line up alongside regular drivers Darren Manning and Rodolfo Lavin at Walker. His drive is being funded by Sun Microsystems, Mexican wireless carrier Telcel and Motorola.
"This will certainly allow me to be in touch with the Mexican public that has always encouraged me," said Diaz. "The race will be very tough and the track demanding, as it will be very competitive among all the drivers that want to win, but with intelligence and speed we will get the results that are expected."
Diaz is the second Mexican to be added to the Champ Car driver line-up for the Mexico City race. Roberto Gonzalez will drive in for Herdez Competition in place of Brazilian Roberto Moreno. The two additions will mean that six Mexican drivers will start the event.
