The 2007 European GP Preview

With more than half the season gone, the battle for the titles continue to heat up, with Ferrari now looking like the faster team, but with McLaren enjoying a healthy lead in both championships as F1 arrives at the Nurburgring. Tom Keeble analyses the prospects ahead of the tenth race of the season

The circus heads to the Nurburgring in Germany for the European Grand Prix, with a rejuvenated Ferrari tracking down championship leaders McLaren.

Analysis

The Nurburgring is a standard European track, which means that overtaking is a tough proposition unless it rains. With a mix of corners, every aspect of the car is equally exercised, so a good balance, clean acceleration and stability under breaking is a definite requirement for going fast. Being aggressive over the kerbs requires solid bump handling, but is necessary to get the absolute most out of the lap.
