Switzerland's Jani wins Sepang sprint
Team Switzerland shot to the top of the A1GP points standings thanks to a convincing sprint race win for Neel Jani at Sepang this morning
His only drama was slightly outbraking himself into the first corner, but with the inside line he was able to keep the lead from Team France's Loic Duval. After that he simply pulled away to win the short race with ease.
Duval was equally comfortable in second, remaining unchallenged throughout the race.
The battle for third was intense, however. Team Canada's Robert Wickens claimed the place at the first corner, but almost immediately came under pressure from fellow rookie Team Germany's Michael Ammermuller. Next up came Sergio Jiminez for Team Brazil, Team GB's Oliver Jarvis and Team New Zealand's Jonny Reid.
Reid made it past Jarvis on lap five, while Ammermuller took until the last lap to find a way around Wickens. It was a controversial lunge at the second corner, which resulted in contact and forced Wickens wide.
Jiminez was almost able to capitalize, but Wickens hung on to fourth, while Reid and Jarvis came in fifth and sixth.
