Summerton returns for Team USA

Jonathan Summerton has been called upon to help Team USA turn around their fortunes in A1GP after a poor start to the season

The team did not score any points with Buddy Rice in the first two events of the campaign, so Summerton has been drafted back in for this weekend's races at Sepang.

"I can't wait to get back in the car," said the 19-year-old. "I have been training for the past month to be ready for my race seat.

"I know I will be a bit rusty in the first practice session but hopefully by qualifying I will be able to be in the top 10 and then for the races be in the top five."

Team boss Rick Weidinger believes that the team are capable of running at the front, and he will be hoping that Summerton can repeat the podium finish that he scored in Mexico last season.

"We need to start scoring points and Jonathan has proven he can," said Weidinger. "As a team we haven't been able to find the speed we need to run at the front.

"Jonathan has quality experience in the car, and our goals for the season haven't changed. We want to win races and finish in the top five in the championship."
