Rossiter to Replace Carroll
James Rossiter will replace Adam Carroll in next week's Team Great Britain A1 Grand Prix shootout at Brands Hatch, Autosport-Atlas can reveal
The F3 Euroseries race winner has been drafted in as an eleventh-hour replacement for Carroll, who has withdrawn from the test.
Rossiter will be put through his paces in an Arden F3000 car along with ex-Jordan driver Ralph Firman, 2002 British F3 champion Robbie Kerr, and 2003 McLaren Autosport award winner Alex Lloyd.
At least two drivers will be chosen to drive for Team GBR in the inaugural World Cup of Motorsport, which begins at the Kent circuit on September 25.
Team boss John Surtees told Autosport-Atlas: "I've had no contact with Adam but he told Arden that he wasn't available anymore.
"We have drafted in James and he has every chance of securing the drive. Nothing is pre-determined. In British F3 he did much better than I thought he would do and he has handled himself admirably when testing for BAR. Every time he has driven a F3000 level car he has acquitted himself well.
"We will make no decision immediately after the test, but we will see how they all drive. There will be other things such as how they relate to the press. There were others we considered, including Jamie Green and Gary Paffett, but Mercedes told me that they would be unavailable."
Rossiter finished third in the last season's British F3 championship, and currently lies in second place in this season's F3 Euroseries.
