Privateers closing the GT gap
Chrysler privateers could close the gap on the company's factory team at this weekend's GT meeting at Silverstone
That is the confident opinion of one of the leading privateers, Hugh Chamberlain, after his successful Le Mans pre-qualification last weekend.
'We're not going to be as far behind the ORECA team cars as were in the opening round at Monza,' he said.
'Our times at Le Mans prove we're getting to grips with the new car, and I am sure that's true of the other Viper teams.'
Chamberlain has still to finalise a second driver to partner Ni Amorim in his lead car. Among those linked are Will Hoy and Thomas Erdos.
The 500-mile event, which is backed by AUTOSPORT, could boast a field of more than 30 cars, and is expected to last around four fours.
