Porsche stick with Penske for '07
Penske Racing will continue their association with Porsche's LMP2 project in the American Le Mans Series next year
The partnership has already yielded the ALMS team and manufacturers' championships in LMP2, and either Lucas Luhr or Sascha Maassen should secure the class drivers' title at Laguna Seca on October 21.
Once again Penske will focus only on the ALMS, rather than make an attempt at the Le Mans 24 Hours or any other races during the year.
"We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Porsche as we look ahead to the 2007 American Le Mans Series championship," said Roger Penske,
"Our immediate focus remains on helping Lucas and Sascha earn the 2006 driver's championship before we turn our collective attention to the development of the next generation RS Spyder."
Penske added that no decision had been made on a driver line-up for next year, as the team continue to focus in finishing the season strongly at Laguna Seca.
Porsche recently unveiled the latest RS Spyder model which will be raced in 2007, and said that it has enhanced aerodynamics and a more powerful engine than the current model.
