Nunn to test female racers

Nunn Motorsports is will test several female racers at Texas Motor Speedway in November in an attempt to identify a driver who is good enough to join its 2005 Infiniti Pro Series squad

Nunn boss Kathryn Nunn is linking up with former Indy 500 racer Lyn St James in the search. "I am very excited at the possibility of having a deserving young driver in one of our cars next season and at being able to help develop her skills for an eventual move up to the IRL IndyCar Series," said Nunn.

"There are so many talented women drivers racing around the country and around the world," said St James. "This is a tremendous opportunity that Kathryn is providing for all of these drivers."

"I have had queries from young women drivers over the last few months," Nunn continued, "but it wasn't until Lyn and I met and talked about some of the drivers that she's been developing in her Driver Development Program that we came up with the idea to have an Open Test, realizing how many young women are out there struggling to get their careers kick-started. And, you know, I've always thought I'd like to run a woman in a Pro Series car, so hopefully, I'll be able to do that in 2005."

Nunn Motorsports has run rookie PJ Chesson to three race IPS race wins already this season - its first in the series.
