New ADESS LMP3 racer makes track debut at Hockenheim
The new ADESS LMP3 car ran for the first time at Hockenheim on Wednesday afternoon
The ADESS-Nissan 03, the third P3 car to hit the track after the Ginetta LMP3 and the Ligier JSP3, was given a shakedown by Chinese driver Zhi Cong Li at the German track in wet conditions.
The European Formula 3 Championship driver was testing on behalf of AAI Motorsports, which is planning to run two ADESS-Nissan 03s in the forthcoming 2015/16 Asian Le Mans Series.
ADESS boss Stephane Chosse proclaimed himself happy with the test, despite the conditions.
"Our intention was always to put the car on the ground in mid-September to show potential customers that it exists and that we can deliver," he told AUTOSPORT.
"The Ginetta is already racing and the Ligier was unveiled at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, so we did not want to wait too long because teams will soon be making their decisions about next year."
Chosse explained that the first ADESS 03 completed limited running because of the weather.
"We didn't do many laps, but we did enough to check all the systems," he said.
"We could have stayed at Hockenheim for a second day, but because of the rain we decided to wait and run the car in the dry at the later date."
AAI, which contested Le Mans this year with two GTE Am class Porsches, is expected to be on the grid with the ADESS when the Asian LMS kicks off at Fuji on October 10, on the World Endurance Championship undercard.
Five cars have now been sold by ADESS, with a further two going to G-Private Racing and one to the Swiss Team All-Sports squad.
