Moreno views 2000 Champ Car
CART driver Roberto Moreno went to see his new Champ Car last Friday.
In an interview with Autosport Online, the 40-year-old Brazilian revealed he has been in England visiting his new car - which would most likely be a Reynard.
However, he still refused to reveal which team he has signed up with for next season.
'I am very excited, but I can't say too much about it,' he commented. 'After three years of trying, I am in line for a full season with a very good team.'
Moreno's new team is thought to be either with Rahal, Patrick or Chip Ganassi's new second squad.
His full-time drive comes after a successful season standing in for injured drivers in the CART series.
In May, he filled in for Mark Blundell at PacWest, after the Englishman fractured a vertebra in testing at Gateway International Raceway.
He then moved to Newman-Haas, after Christian Fittipaldi suffered a head injury following a crash [also at Gateway] in August.
' I was never in the best place at the right time, and had to fit in here and there.
'But, if you look carefully at my career, you can see that I always had to find opportunities where people were out of their regular drives in order for me to get the drive - mainly because of a lack of sponsorship.
'This put me in the situation where I had to rely on my technical ability.
'I developed this very early on [in my career]. I was always worried about how the car works, and I was my own mechanic in my first season in Formula Ford.
'Always developing that technical side - which not many drivers have - has made me a 20-year career.'
