McRae, Gronholm Back at RoC

Organisers of the Race of Champions have announced that David Coulthard, Colin McRae and Marcus Gronholm will return for this year's event at the Stade de France

The trio join the previously announced list of competitors, including WRC title-holder Sebastien Loeb, GP2 title contender Heikki Kovalainen, DTM racer Jean Alesi and NASCAR star Jeff Gordon.

Coulthard and McRae will again compete together in the Autosport GB team in the Nations Cup section of the event. Loeb and Alesi will again make up the French team and Gronholm will join Kovalainen in the Finish squad.

The American line-up will be more unusual, with four-time NASCAR champion Gordon partnering X-Games two-wheeled superstar Travis Pastrana.

Kovalainen won last year's event, beating Michael Schumacher and Sebastien Loeb en route to his victory.

Fredrik Johnsson, president of event organiser IMP confirmed that yet more names would be announced before the Paris event on December 3.

He said: "An exciting list of world class drivers from Formula One, WRC, NASCAR and other top class disciplines have already pledged to challenge for this year's Race of Champions title. Many other champions are expected to confirm their presence in the next few weeks."
