A1 GP to Look Into Tech Issues
A1 Grand Prix have confirmed they will investigate two of the key technical areas that affected some of the teams in the inaugural race meeting at Brands hatch
The series will investigate if anything went wrong with the car's batteries and whether tyres were too difficult to change.
Team Brazil boss Emerson Fittipaldi predicted that his team could have a problem on the pitstop, which was vindicated, when they lost several seconds with a sticking rear wheel. The problems also affected the Pakistan and German teams.
Fittipaldi told Autosport-Atlas: "I'm concerned about the equipment. The nuts are having a problem getting on the hubs. Everybody is struggling with them."
Batteries also appeared to prove problematic, ending the feature races of Great Britain and France, and also stopping Brazil's Nelson Piquet Jr from taking part in the final 15-minute qualifying session.
An A1 GP spokesperson confirmed that the series will look into the problems and see if anything can be improved. He said: "As with all things that appear to affect more than one car, we will look into them and see if anything needs to be changed."
