Major teams in GT switch

The Graham Nash Motorsport and Creation Autosportif FIA GT Championship squads are aiming to enter the rejuventated British GT series this season

Nash and Creation are looking to take advantage of the new-for-2004 format, which includes the re-introduction of a class for the cars the squads ran in FIA GTs last year. Nash wants to field a pair of Saleen S7Rs, while Creation is planning to enter a solo Lister Storm.

Graham Nash, whose team claimed the British crown with Tommy Erdos and Ian McKellar Jr in 2002, said: "The new format is a good one and we have British sponsors, so it makes sense to go back. The plan is to run two cars, but we aren't quite in a position to announce drivers."

Creation team boss Ian Bickerton explained that new British GT organiser Stephane Ratel had persuaded the team to consider running a car in the domestic series alongside its programme in FIA GTs. "He is very interested in having us run one of our Listers in British GTs and we are keen to support the series," said Bickerton. "The plan at the moment is to run one car in the British and one in the FIA."

Bickerton explained that drivers had yet to be signed for the car, which will go up against the factory entry driven by Jamie Campbell-Walter and Nicolaus Springer.
