Larbre forced to quit series
Larbre Competition have withdrawn from the Le Mans Series with immediate effect, citing too many commitments as their reason for quitting
The French outfit, who ran a solitary Saleen S7R Ford in the series, finished second in the GT1 class with Christophe Bouchut, Frederic Makowiecki and Patrick Bornhauser, in the opening round of the LMS at Barcelona three week's ago.
Team Principal Jack Leconte said: "It is with regret that we are leaving the Le Mans Series, of which we have been staunch supporters in recent times.
"However, our programmes in the FIA GT and FFSA GT Championships provide a number of date clashes, meaning it is no longer viable for us to continue."
A statement from the team added that with Larbre being asked to run Scuderia AC Argentina's FIA GT Championship programme in 2008, alongside its existing FIA GT and FFSA GT commitments, they had no choice but to quit the LMS.
Larbre confirmed that they still intend to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
