Kovalainen to face off Vettel
McLaren new signing Heikki Kovalainen will find himself up against familiar opposition in the Race of Champions tomorrow when he faces off against fellow Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel in the first heat
The draw for the individual event was made at Wembley this afternoon, with Vettel drawing out the former RoC winner's name in front of a packed press conference.
Speaking about the draw, Vettel said: "When Kovalainen won the event in 2004, I didn't even have a driving licence!"
The drivers pulling names out for the draw faced a nervous wait to see who would go up against Michael Schumacher, with that honour falling to WRC driver Henning Solberg.
"It's fantastic for me," said Solberg. "I'm really looking forward to it."
Elsewhere, Jenson Button will be going up against Alister McRae; Sebastian Bourdais faces NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson; and David Coulthard will challenge Peter Solberg.
WTCC rivals Andy Priaulx and Yvan Muller will also renew their rivalry for the first time since their title showdown in Macau last month.
Muller, whose title hopes were dashed by a fuel pump failure there, said: "If my fuel pump doesn't break here, then I have a chance to win this time."
