Junqueira to continue with Brazil

Bruno Junqueira will make his second A1GP appearance for Team Brazil in Mexico City this month

The 30-year-old has experience of the track, which has been on the Champ Car calendar in recent years, and he believes that the team can be very competitive after he had a solid series debut last time out in Durban.

"I'm happy to be continuing with Team Brazil and I'm happy to be going to a track I know," said Junqueira.

"We had a reasonable pace in South Africa, and I hope we can improve further for Mexico."

The Brazilian team dominated the first ever round of A1GP at Brands Hatch in 2005, but despite having poor second season in A1GP so far, Junqueira is aiming high for the next round of the series.

"I think a podium is possible," he said. "I know we can be competitive there and I'm really looking forward to racing again."

Team boss Emerson Fittipaldi has tried to give young drivers a chance to shine in their national colours so far this season, but with Junqueira on board with knowledge of the Mexico City track, he firmly believes that the team can compete for victory.

"I am very happy that Bruno will race again in Mexico," he said. "In my opinion, we are going to Mexico with a good chance of winning the race."
