Junior Jordan on top in BTRDA series
Jordan, 14, is the first Junior class racer to hold the overall lead of a rallycross championship. He didn't originally plan to chase the BTRDA title, but entered Blyton when he realised he was leading the series. The Junior class caters from 14 to 16 years old, running in Minis powered by a 1000cc engine
"After the winter events we did to learn the car we found we were leading the championship," said Jordan, who finished sixth in the Junior Final. "I hoped I'd get some more mileage, but I had a lot of problems - the car was overheating and I had a broken damper.
"But to finish and get some points is good with the problems we had. Hopefully, they are out of the way now, before the next round of the Junior Rallycross Championship."
Lewis Hopkins won the Junior A Final, but a strong run to second place allowed Robert Gaffney to close to within five points of Jordan's overall and class championship lead. Minicross points leader Rob Stanniland is third in the points, ahead of SuperModified leader Iain Muir. The championship resumes at Lydden on July 11.
