Jarvis quickest in final practice

Oliver Jarvis kept up his fine form in Mexico as he went quickest for Team Great Britain in the final free practice session before qualifying this afternoon

But although Jarvis was pleased with his race pace, he was still concerned about his form on new tyres.

This afternoon's session will be his first full attempt at A1GP qualifying (his previous race appearance was at the disrupted Beijing round) and he will have to work hard to make sure he stays at the front.

Second in the session was Team Netherlands driver Renger van der Zande. Although drivers have yet to be nominated, it appears that the Dutch team will continue with their previously announced plan to allow van der Zande and his colleague Jeroen Bleekemolen to start one race each tomorrow.

Team India made a welcome return to form with Narain Karthikeyan taking the car into third place. After complaining of oversteer yesterday, this might indicate that the car is a little more to his liking. However, not every team tried new tyres in this session and that could be clouding the true picture.
