Gorne leaves Reynard Motorsport again
Rick Gorne, who had only recently rejoined racing car constructors Reynard Motorsport as chief executive, has left the company again
Chairman Adrian Reynard is now back at the helm of the company, taking over from Gorne who had returned with the aim of re-capitalising the company. The altered financial climate of recent months changed their plans, however, prompting Gorne to relinquish his role.
"It is disappointing that Rick and I haven't been able to accomplish our goals at this time," said Reynard. "It's been great working with Rick again over the last few months and he remains my close confidante. My priority now is to ensure that Reynard Motorsport has a strong, healthy future and I, along with the directors of the company, are presently reviewing the operations and administrations to ensure that we are best placed to meet the ever increasing demands for competitiveness.
He added: "Reynard Motorsport has been at the forefront of the industry for over 28 years and has evolved to become a leading supplier of race cars. We are committed to maintaining our championship winning form in every category in which we compete. We are greatly encouraged by the initial testing of our Reynard 02I Champ Car and the arrival of our new technical director, Nick Wirth, and are confident that 2002 will bring us further success."
