Germany dominate wet feature race
Young German Nico Hulkenberg gave the A1GP field a wet-weather masterclass as he dominated the feature race at Sepang
The 19-year-old dispatched of pole-sitter Neel Jani on lap one, and then dominated the race in appalling conditions to win by 42 seconds from Great Britain's Robbie Kerr.
Nicolas Lapierre earned a podium for reigning champions France with a pass on Jani late in the race.
The sprint race winner struggled in the closing stages, after he had been running second prior to the pitstops.
Kerr was able to come out ahead of Jani, though, when the Swiss driver had a trip through the gravel at Turn 14.
The weather conditions were so bad that the start of the race had to be delayed, and the field spent four laps behind the safety car before going racing.
Hulkenberg was able to lap two seconds faster than anyone in the first half of the race, and he maintained his big lead despite stalling in the pits.
Alex Yoong had an eventful race for Malaysia in their home race. The former Grand Prix driver tumbled down the order during the middle of the race, but his car seemed transformed after a pitstop.
Yoong had dropped out of the points, but in the latter stages of the race he was comfortably the fastest car on track, and recovered back to seventh place behind Canada and the USA.
New Zealand dropped down to eighth after an impressive sprint race showing, while the Netherlands picked up a couple of points with ninth place.
Michael Devaney battled hard in the closing stages with Singapore's Christian Murchison, but Devaney prevailed to score Ireland's first point of the season.
Mexico ended a disastrous day as one of the only retirements in the feature race, meaning that the nation who led the standings at the start of the day scored no points in Malaysia.
