Germany confirm new line-up

Michael Ammermuller and Niko Hulkenberg have been confirmed as new additions to Team Germany for the 2006/7 A1 GP season

The pair impressed at the recent two-day Silverstone test, and will join Timo Scheider, who raced for the team last year, scoring a best result of second place at Laguna Seca.

"With this line-up we want to fight frequently for the top positions this season," said team boss Willi Weber. "Timo is a known quantity to us, and with Niko and Michael we have gained two of Germany's most promising single-seater talents."

The experienced David Sears Motorsport outfit will continue to run the team, which finished 15th in the inaugural A1GP season after using several drivers of varied experience.

"We have united the strongest components for the new season," he added. "Super Nova's experience in Formula-car racing proved invaluable in our first season, and they will again run our car."

Ammermuller took one victory on his way to 11th in GP2 this year, while Hulkenberg is currently fifth in the German Formula Three Cup.

"I watched the series with interest last winter, and now I can look forward to driving for Germany," said Ammermuller. "The car feels quite similar to a GP2 car, and at Silverstone we were always among the leading group, so it was a good start."
