France's Premat wins Durban sprint
It was another victory for Team France in the A1 Grand Prix sprint race this afternoon in Durban, but driver Alexandre Premat came very close to landing in the wall after a last-lap passing attempt from Jos Verstappen
The Team Holland driver shadowed Premat for the full race distance, and managed to get a run on the Frenchman when they came across an accident at the corner leading onto the back straight.
Verstappen attempted to pass on the outside of Premat, but he ended up running out of room on the exit and spun into the path of the Team France car.
There was contact, but Premat managed to hang onto the car and keep the win, while Verstappen had to retire. This ensured that Great Britain's Robbie Kerr was able to claim a fortunate second place.
Kerr had spent most of the race trying to find a way past Czech Republic driver Tomas Enge, but he made the most of the same last-lap opportunity and took the spot.
Team Switzerland (Neel Jani) and Team Ireland (Ralph Firman) also took advantage through to claim third and fourth ahead of Enge, who stopped his car just past the finish line.
